Trend: TRIPP project construction expected to begin in 2027

"The main negotiations are being held between the US and Armenia. Because the part of the TRIPP project that belongs to the corridor – an area of approximately 40 kilometers – is Armenian territory. For this reason, the main parties to the negotiations here are the US and Armenia,” according to Trend, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov told journalists on the sidelines of the 2026 Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW 2026).

“The information given to us is that this work and these negotiations are being successfully continued. Previous reports indicated that physical work was likely to start sooner. Currently, however, within the framework of new public statements, the start of physical work is expected to be moved to 2027,” Bayramov added.
