Iranian media: Tehran imposes flight restrictions near Azerbaijan border; IRGC deploys drones

Iran has issued a NOTAM* covering areas near its border with Azerbaijan, according to the Iranian news site Mostaghel.

The notice states that “temporary flight restrictions have been imposed,” adding that unmanned aerial vehicles of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) are operating in the area. Mostaghel suggests the move may indicate a heightened level of military readiness along the border.

*A NOTAM (Notice to Air Missions) is an urgent notice filed with an aviation authority to alert aircraft pilots of potential hazards, procedural changes, or equipment issues that could affect flight safety.
