Iranian expert: Armenia cannot cooperate with Israel—its “sworn enemy”

In an interview with Armenian news outlet MediaHub, Iranian expert Ehsan Movahedian—known for his anti-Azerbaijani and anti-Israeli views—warned against any attempt to restore relations between Armenia and Israel.

According to Movahedian, there have been calls urging Armenia to purchase weapons from Israel. He said it was astonishing that an Armenian could advance such an idea, given that Israel has supplied Baku with large-scale weaponry that, he claimed, resulted in the deaths of thousands of Armenians. Movahedian added that no country buys weapons from a sworn enemy.

“Armenia cannot cooperate with Israel while facing states that seek to undermine its identity and civilizational foundations—states that speak of the need for Armenia to join the ‘Turkic world’ with the aim of erasing the 3,000-year-old civilization of the Armenian people. Israel itself adheres to the same ideology and supports strengthening the Turkic world in order to geopolitically encircle Iran and Armenia… Iran is capable of providing Armenia with the most advanced technologies in various fields, and the achievements of Iranian companies in Armenia in road construction, technical and engineering services, and other sectors are evidence of this,” he said.
