Israel’s presence in Baku is an attempt to break out of international isolation, Iran’s former ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mohsen Pakayin, said in an interview with Iran Daily, a newspaper aligned with the Iranian president’s administration.
In response to a question about how he assessed the Israeli foreign minister’s statements during his meeting with Azerbaijani officials, Pakayin added: "The Azerbaijani government should also be called out for facilitating Israel’s emergence from isolation at a time when it is widely reviled across the globe and for allowing it to make such statements against its friendly neighbor, Iran."
