Akram al-Kaabi, head of the Iraqi pro-Iranian group Hezbollah al-Nujaba, claimed that the unrest in Iran was launched under direct U.S. and Israeli control to destabilize and destroy the Islamic Republic. He said it was coordinated from Erbil in Iraq as well as from the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Hezbollah al-Nujaba is an Iraqi Shiite paramilitary group that has been particularly active in Iraq and Syria. It was founded in 2013 by al-Kaabi to support the government of Bashar al-Assad in Syria. The group is overseen by Sepah-e-Qods, the special operations unit of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
