Azerbaijani and U.S. presidents held talks in Davos

On January 22, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with U.S. President Donald Trump in Davos.

The two leaders welcomed the development of bilateral relations across various fields since President Trump’s return to office. They highlighted Trump’s role in the August 8 Washington agreements aimed at advancing the Azerbaijan–Armenia peace agenda. Aliyev also underscored the importance of the Zangezur Corridor, including the TRIPP project, in enhancing regional connectivity.

The leaders noted the significance of the Board of Peace, chaired by the U.S. President. Azerbaijan’s invitation to join the Board as a founding member was described as a reflection of the Azerbaijan–U.S. strategic partnership and Azerbaijan’s contribution to promoting peace on a global scale.

The presidents exchanged views on future prospects for bilateral relations, emphasizing the importance of reciprocal visits and contacts at various levels to further deepen cooperation.
