Former Iranian MP: Tehran could harden its stance on Trump Route

A collapse or instability in Iran would have “very serious” consequences not only for Iranians, but also for Iran’s Armenian community and for Armenia itself, a former Iranian MP of Armenian descent, Robert Beglarian, said in an interview with Hetq, a Yerevan-based online newspaper.

Beglaryan argued that as Iran’s regional influence weakens, various countries could seek to increase pressure on Armenia. He specifically mentioned Israel, claiming it “does not wish well for” either Iran or Armenia.

He also did not rule out the possibility that Tehran could harden its stance on the TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) project.
