Mehr: Azerbaijan, the U.S., and Israel step up cooperation

The growing cooperation between the United States and Azerbaijan—particularly following the suspension of Section 907—signals the emergence of a sustained U.S.–Azerbaijan–Israel alignment in the South Caucasus, according to the Iranian news agency Mehr, which is affiliated with Iran’s Supreme Leader.

The agency says the development directly affects Iran’s interests and increases pressure along its northern borders. The lifting of restrictions, it adds, has enabled Washington to provide Baku with direct military and intelligence support.

Mehr further reports that cooperation has expanded through joint security initiatives, equipment transfers, and intelligence sharing, with Israel playing an active role. At the same time, Azerbaijan’s energy and transit projects are being reinforced with U.S. and Israeli backing—a shift that, according to the news agency, weakens Iran’s position in Europe’s evolving energy security architecture and reduces the importance of Iranian transit routes.
