Euronews: Book on Mossad claims Israel may have spoofed the GPS of Raisi’s helicopter from a concealed site in Azerbaijan

According to the book “Scent of Death: Handbook of Mossad's Shattering Operations Inside Iran,” Mossad may have deployed a GPS-spoofing system to mislead the navigation of the helicopter carrying Iran’s former president Ebrahim Raisi—either from a concealed location in Azerbaijan or via a drone operating over the Caspian Sea—while the aircraft was within operational range. The claim was reported by Euronews’ Persian service.

The article notes that the technology does not jam GPS signals but instead forges them. By transmitting a stronger counterfeit GPS signal, the system could override the authentic signal received by the helicopter and gradually cause it to deviate from its intended course.
