Iranian think tank: No evidence backs claims portraying Azerbaijan as an “Israeli agent”

There is no credible evidence to portray Azerbaijan as an “agent of Israel,” and this interpretation does not reflect regional realities, according to The Institute for Iran and Eurasia Studies (IRAS).

“Disagreements between Iran and Israel predate Azerbaijan’s independence and are rooted in geopolitics. In this context, Israel is merely leveraging its presence in the Republic of Azerbaijan and along Iran’s northern borders to gain informational and operational advantages—an issue Tehran is sensitive to,” the think tank notes.
