Israel has monitored Iran’s nuclear facilities from Azerbaijani territory since the 1980s, expert says

“For many years — going back, for example, to the 1980s — the Zionist regime has used the territory of the Republic of Baku to conduct reconnaissance of our nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Natanz and other areas,” Iranian expert Sadegh Koushki said in an interview with the Iran 24 TV channel.

According to him, Baku “is not acting in Iran’s interests and is not respecting the principles of good-neighborly relations.” He added that “Israelis are present in Iran’s border regions and in the Republic of Baku, where they conduct surveillance and stage media provocations from time to time.”

Koushki stressed that “when putting pressure on Baku and similar countries, it is essential to prevent the involvement of extra-regional players, especially the malign forces of the United States, which have brought chaos and destabilization everywhere they have gone.”
