"Iran’s response to any developments in the region is important for Armenia, both from economic and political perspectives, but also in the context of partnership in strategically important security issues concerning the shared border... For Armenia, Iran’s engagement—or at least its interest—in regional projects backed by the US creates a favorable environment where sovereignty, security, and economic stability can be safeguarded while geostrategic interests are taken into account," notes the Central Asia-Caucasus Analyst, an online publication of the Washington- and Stockholm-based think tank, the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute and Silk Road Studies Program Joint Center.
