U.S. official announces launch of working group to advance partnership with Azerbaijan

The United States is seeking to deepen its strategic ties with Azerbaijan and promote regional peace following a historic summit in August, said Under Secretary for Political Affairs Allison Hooker at a meeting with Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. The remarks were reported by the Azerbaijani news agency Trend, citing the U.S. Embassy in Baku.

"Hooker also announced the launch of a U.S.-Azerbaijan Working Group, led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Sonata Coulter. The group will support the implementation of a Strategic Partnership Charter and promote progress toward a full peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia," the news agency added.
