Turkish historian: Israel plans to use Azerbaijan to partition Iran

“Considering that Israel operates in coordination with Azerbaijan and claims to have jointly liberated Karabakh with it, and given the Azerbaijani government’s openly expressed gratitude toward Israel, it becomes clear that Israel is strengthening its position in the region for reasons that go beyond Azerbaijan alone,” Turkish historian Erkan Trükten said in an interview with journalist Ali Tarakçı on the latter’s YouTube channel.

According to him, this is part of a plan to “liberate” Southern Azerbaijan, which would require the partition of Iran.

Trükten added that the Zangezur Corridor is being pushed forward under the influence of Israel and the United States, with Turkey’s participation. The historian argues that the full unification of Southern Azerbaijan with Azerbaijan could create a new power from which Israel would derive significant benefits. “Seeking to encircle Iran and shift the regional balance, Israel is already cultivating an ally for itself and has carried out a joint operation with Azerbaijan, further reducing Armenia’s territory,” he asserted.
