Atlantic Council representative: Azerbaijan is the focus of the U.S. president’s attention

"There is no doubt that Azerbaijan is in the focus of the U.S. President’s attention, and this is very good for you, and also very good for us — the United States. It is encouraging that the high-level leadership in Washington is paying positive and meaningful attention to the South Caucasus, Azerbaijan, and Central Asia," said John Herbst, senior director of the Atlantic Council's Eurasia Center, during the 1st Azerbaijan–U.S. Think Tanks Forum in Baku.

Moreover, Herbst emphasized: "The shooting down of the AZAL aircraft and the denial of it, the unfavorable treatment of Azerbaijani businessmen in Russia, and a number of other such factors are bringing Azerbaijan–U.S. relations even closer."

"The U.S. considers Central Asia a priority region. It is no coincidence that after the C5+1 summit held in Washington, we have gathered in Baku. Soon, with Azerbaijan joining this platform, it will become C6+1. In this regard, the importance of our relations is increasing further," the American expert added.
