IRGC Outlet Claims Azerbaijan Expands Military with Israel and NATO

At a military parade in Baku, Azerbaijan showcased new Israeli-made equipment, including HERO-120 loitering munitions, Sandcat armored vehicles, Spike anti-tank missiles and reconnaissance drones. This was reported by the Iranian news outlet Mashregh News, which is close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The article notes that the long-range PULS multiple-launch rocket system was officially displayed for the first time, having previously appeared only in unconfirmed reports.

According to Mashregh News, Azerbaijan also presented the ICE Breaker (Sea Breaker) anti-ship cruise missile, capable of striking both naval and land targets at ranges of up to 300 km. The country’s arsenal also includes LORA tactical ballistic missiles (300–500 km), which were used “during the Second Karabakh War and will likely be retained for future purposes.” Azerbaijan also operates the Israeli Barak-8 air-defense system, although it was not displayed at the parade.

The news outlet argues that Azerbaijan’s procurement of long-range weapons from Israel and Turkey, along with its growing contacts with Western countries, “indicates that this country (Azerbaijan), even after resolving the conflict in Karabakh or Zangezur, will continue expansionist activities in the region with the support and guidance of NATO and the Israeli regime, thereby threatening the interests of countries such as Iran and Russia.”
