Iranian MP accuses Azerbaijan’s president of involvement in plan to bomb Supreme Leader’s residence

“We are not merely making accusations; we are presenting documents and evidence that prove their malicious involvement,” Iranian MP Kamran Ghazanfari told the TV channel Iran 24, commenting on claims that Azerbaijan was complicit in the death of former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.

According to Ghazanfari, “Ilham Aliyev’s regime also took part in Israel’s attack on Iran on October 26, 2024. Last year, Israel planned to use 120 aircraft to disable Iran’s air defenses, strike nuclear and military facilities, and bomb the Supreme Leader’s residence with the aim of killing him— a plan in which Azerbaijan participated.”

The MP added: “Israel uses Azerbaijan’s airspace for attacks against us. The strike on several facilities in Shahrud was also carried out with Azerbaijan’s assistance. The Baku regime was involved both in last year’s military assault and in the 12-day war.”
