Armenian Youth Union opposes Azerbaijan’s inclusion in Gaza deployment

The Union of Armenian Youth (Yerevan, Beirut, Los Angeles, and Paris) voiced concern over reports that some international actors are considering the inclusion of Azerbaijani forces in international committees slated for deployment to the Gaza Strip, The Palestinian Information Center reported.

In its statement, the Union said Azerbaijan cannot be considered a neutral party because it is a military and strategic ally of Israel. It has concluded arms and intelligence agreements with Israel and openly supports what the Union calls Israel’s “criminal policy against the Palestinian people.”

The statement further emphasized that Israel has repeatedly used Azerbaijani territory for military operations against “peoples of the region, including Iran and Armenia.”
