The Conference of European Rabbis, which is expected to discuss the Abraham Accords, “cannot be held in Azerbaijan — this must not be allowed,” declared Özgür Bursalı, secretary-general of Turkey’s Vatan (Patriotic) Party, known for its anti-Western and anti-Zionist stance.
“Israel has committed genocide in Palestine, destroyed Gaza, burned it to the ground, and killed children — tens of thousands of our people have become martyrs. Israel’s hands are soaked in blood, and it now finds itself isolated from the entire world. Even in Europe and the United States, protests have begun against Israel, and people are raising flags in solidarity. And now this same Israel will be welcomed with open arms in Baku? Absolutely not! We cannot allow Israel — shunned by the whole world — to send a message of defiance from Baku. Everyone must take a principled stance on this issue,” Bursalı said on the YouTube channel of the Turkish television network Ulusal, which is close to Doğu Perinçek, the chairman of the Vatan Party.
