Khamenei-linked media: Azerbaijan’s presence in Gaza would serve Israel’s interests

Azerbaijan intends to join the multinational forces aimed at establishing stability in the Gaza Strip — a move that, according to the Iranian news agency Mehr (affiliated with Iran’s Supreme Leader), shows that, under pressure from Israel’s allies, Baku has assumed a key role within the framework of the Abraham Accords.
“Analysts believe that Azerbaijan, with its Muslim-majority population and its experience in military and economic cooperation with Tel Aviv, could act as a reliable and acceptable partner for safeguarding Zionist interests,” Mehr reports.
The article stresses that Azerbaijan’s presence in Gaza would benefit Israel strategically, politically, and economically.
The news agency quoted Joseph Epstein, director of the Turan Research Center in Washington, whose remarks were published in The Jerusalem Post. Epstein noted that Azerbaijan’s participation in the Gaza stabilization mission “would strengthen Israel through its long-standing partnership and shared strategic interests with regard to Iran.”
“For the past three decades, security ties between Tel Aviv and Azerbaijan have expanded, reaching their peak during the 2020 Karabakh war. Azerbaijan used Israeli combat systems, which could also prove effective in a Gaza stabilization mission. Meanwhile, Baku, by regularly supplying oil to the Zionist regime through the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline, has continuously fueled this regime’s killing machine amid its aggression against Gaza,” Mehr adds.
