Emirati think tank: Israel is monitoring US efforts to transport Azerbaijani gas via the Trump Corridor

"While not explicitly addressed in the demilitarized zone negotiations, it is anticipated that Israel will engage in discussions with Syria, Turkiye and the Gulf states regarding the transit and potential extraction of natural gas through Syrian territory or off its Mediterranean coast. This is seen as a strategic move by Israel to secure its position in the regional natural gas market. Israel is closely monitoring US efforts to transport natural gas from Azerbaijan and the Central Asian republics through the Trump Corridor, as well as from Qatar to Syria and onward to the Mediterranean. These actions are part of Washington’s broader strategy to diversify natural gas sources to Europe and reduce reliance on Russian gas," writes the Emirates Policy Center, an Abu Dhabi-based think tank.
