Armenian expert: Egypt summit hints at "Abrahamic union" involving Azerbaijan and Armenia

Shahan Gantaharyan, an international affairs expert and editor-in-chief of the Beirut-based Armenian newspaper Aztag Daily, told 1in.am that the summit in Egypt “from afar looks like an Abrahamic union,” arguing that the participating states have “effectively received a direct or indirect invitation to become part of it.” This, Gantaharyan says, explains the presence of Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the summit.
“These invitations not only testify once again to deepening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel across various fields, but also suggest the Abrahamic bloc’s reach into regions adjacent to Iran and hint at certain circles behind them,” the expert added.
