Representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader in IRGC: Israel has built an airport in Azerbaijan, just 17 km from the Iranian border

Israel "has built" a large airport in an Azerbaijani district located across from the Iranian village of Asheqlu in Khoda Afarin County, just 17 kilometers from the Iranian border. The claim was made by Hojjatoleslam Abdolrahim Najafgholizadeh Saraei, the representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader in the IRGC’s provincial unit Ashura in East Azerbaijan.

“We are witnessing daily flights between this airport and Tel Aviv,” he stated, adding: “This overt and unimpeded presence is proof of the Zionist regime’s complete control over the Republic of Azerbaijan.” (as reported by Tasnim, an Iranian news agency affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps).
