Iranian media: Public still doubts Azerbaijan’s good intentions

If Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s presence at the ECO Summit in the Azerbaijani city of Khankendi is limited to mere political formalities, it may be perceived by the public as a sign of “Tehran’s weakness in the face of the Baku–Tel Aviv military-security alliance,” writes the reformist Iranian newspaper Shargh.

Although President Pezeshkian officially requested clarification from his Azerbaijani counterpart to confirm that Azerbaijani territory was not used for attacks against Iran, the public “continues to view Baku with distrust.”
