Iranian expert accuses Azerbaijan of hostile policy toward Tehran under U.S. and Israeli influence

Azerbaijan effectively supported Israel during the recent 12-day conflict, yet Tehran is still offering Baku a final opportunity to “reconsider its approach toward Iran." This was stated by Middle East expert Hassan Hanizadeh, commenting on the Iranian president’s visit to the Azerbaijani city of Khankendi and his participation in the ECO Summit.

“The Islamic Republic has always sought to elevate relations between Tehran and Baku to the highest level. However, Azerbaijan has repeatedly demonstrated that it operates under the influence of the United States and the Zionist regime, adopting unfriendly positions. This has repeatedly endangered Iran’s national security, particularly as a result of Israeli involvement,” Hanizadeh added (as reported by the Iranian news agency IMNA).
