Iranian state newspaper accuses Azerbaijan of evading accountability for assisting Israel

Debris from drones in the northwest, three fuel tanks discovered off the Caspian coast, and UAV flight paths all point to Azerbaijan’s possible involvement in Israeli attacks, according to the Iranian state newspaper Farhikhtegan.

The newspaper notes that although Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev denied collaborating with Israel against Iran during a phone call with his Iranian counterpart, “a mere denial carries no strategic weight in light of the available evidence.”

“Experience shows that Baku has consistently avoided issuing official clarifications and has refused to accept responsibility in accordance with good-neighborly principles in similar cases,” Farhikhtegan adds.
