Iranian expert: Azerbaijani leadership maintains deep ties with Israel

“The families that came to power, such as the Aliyevs and the Pashayevs, have deep economic, military, and intelligence ties with Israel—ties that have only grown stronger over the past three decades,” said Iranian expert Ehsan Movahedian, who is known for his anti-Azerbaijani and anti-Israeli views, in an interview with the economic website Eghtesad 120.

He added that, prior to the start of the 12-day war, “unusual activity was observed in our border regions, along with reports of canceled leave for Baku’s military personnel, the mobilization of reservists, and a buildup of troops near the frontiers under the pretext of joint drills with Turkey.”
