Iran expert: Israel may have used deception near Azerbaijan’s border to sow doubt in Tehran

Mossad, relying on “internal attacks” from within Iranian territory, considered the use of neighboring countries for strikes to be excessive and risky, according to Viktor Smagin, an expert on Iran.

He added that Israeli intelligence may have employed a deceptive tactic by “launching drones near Azerbaijan’s border with only limited incursions into Iranian airspace” in order to create the impression of Baku’s involvement in the war, sow doubt in Tehran, and implement a “divide and rule” strategy toward its Caucasian partner (as reported by the Qatari newspaper Al Jazeera).
