BBC: Iran and Azerbaijan locked in media war over Israeli attacks

Speculation and accusations regarding Azerbaijan’s possible involvement in Israeli attacks on Iran have heightened political and media tensions between Tehran and Baku, according to the BBC Persian Service.

The article notes that media outlets affiliated with the Azerbaijani government have dismissed Tehran’s allegations—that Israel used Azerbaijani territory—as “hostile propaganda” and “false information.” They have also accused Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, of personally pursuing an “anti-Azerbaijani policy.”
