Azerbaijani MP accuses Iran of hypocrisy over drone investigation demands

“When Armenians occupied Azerbaijani lands, we didn’t hear a single word of condemnation from Iran. Even at the United Nations, when the issue of our occupied territories was raised, Iran abstained from voting and offered no support. When those lands were plundered, the Iranian government remained silent. And now, when they come to us with demands, they should be ashamed,” Azerbaijani MP Rasim Musabeyov told the BBC, commenting on the Iranian president’s request for an investigation into reports that Israeli drones were launched from Azerbaijani territory.

Sabir Rustamkhanli, co-chairman of the World Azerbaijanis Congress, went further, calling on Iran’s Supreme Leader to step down: “If your leadership is incapable of saving the country from crisis, war, and collapse, then your continued rule has neither religious nor moral justification.”
