ANT: Iran deliberately creates a manageable crisis by accusing Azerbaijan of aiding Israel

In a strategically vulnerable position, Iran is attempting to shift the crisis to neighboring regions in order to “regain political initiative,” according to ANT, a media outlet representing ethnic Azerbaijanis in Iran (Southern Azerbaijan).

One such tactic, the outlet notes, is the promotion of media accusations that Azerbaijan is assisting Israeli attacks by granting access to its airspace—particularly following recent remarks by Iran’s ambassador to Armenia.

“Given the limitations in the south, especially the inability to close the Strait of Hormuz, Tehran may be deliberately provoking a manageable crisis in the north. Azerbaijan—with its Turkic majority, shared border with Iran, and close ties to Israel—has become a convenient target,” ANT adds.
