Tehran Attacks Launched from Azerbaijan, Tabriz Struck from Iraq

Most of the attacks on Tehran and Karaj “were carried out” from the direction of the Caspian Sea using the airspace of Iran’s northern neighbor — the Republic of Azerbaijan. This was reported by the conservative Iranian newspaper Kayhan, regarded as a mouthpiece of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

“The main strikes by the Zionist regime also targeted Tehran, which underscores the need to reassess the approach to this northern neighbor to avoid a similar situation in the future,” the newspaper noted.

Citing preliminary data, Kayhan claims that the attacks on Tabriz and its surrounding areas were launched “through northern Iraq,” and the strikes on Khorramabad and Kermanshah — given their proximity to the border — also originated “from Iraqi territory.”
