Armenian expert: Iran’s accusations of drone attacks from Azerbaijan serve propaganda purposes

According to Armenian political analyst Andreas Ghukasyan, the claims that drones attacked Iranian targets from Azerbaijani territory are part of an Iranian propaganda campaign.
“The Iranian propaganda machine has intentionally spread this narrative amid the current wave of aggression. They needed a way to explain how such an extensive network could be operating freely within Iran. There had to be someone to blame — someone to answer for why strikes are taking place from inside Iranian territory and why prominent scientists and members of their families are being killed. These attacks were carried out on private residences; people were murdered in their sleep. It’s obvious that the family of a scientist cannot be considered a military target. Legally, these are nothing more than politically motivated assassinations. Azerbaijan serves as a convenient scapegoat, given the narrative in Iranian propaganda that portrays Azerbaijan as a semi-hostile neighbor,” Ghukasyan said in an interview with the Russian-Armenian news agency Rusarminfo.
According to the political analyst, this is precisely why the Iranian President, during a phone call with President Aliyev, called for an investigation into “reports of drone attacks by the Zionist regime on Iran from Azerbaijani territory.”
