Azerbaijani President assures his Iranian counterpart that no Israeli strikes were launched from Azerbaijani territory

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in a phone call with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, stressed the importance of investigating “reports of drone attacks by the Zionist regime on Iran from Azerbaijani territory,” according to Tasnim, a news agency affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

President Aliyev rejected the claims, stating: “The government of Azerbaijan will never allow its airspace to be used against a friendly and brotherly country — the Islamic Republic of Iran.” He also reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s “respect for Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty.”
