Representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader in IRGC: Iran may strike U.S. bases in Azerbaijan

“The armed forces of the Islamic Republic launched strikes on the largest military base in the region — in Qatar,” said Hojjatoleslam Saraei, the representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader in the IRGC’s provincial unit Ashura in East Azerbaijan. He added that Iran could also target “American bases in Iraqi Kurdistan, Azerbaijan, Qatar, and other countries.”

Although the original statement referred to “American bases,” several Iranian sources have substituted the term with “Israeli bases,” without offering any clarification or explanation.
