Iranian expert: Israel used Azerbaijani territory to launch attacks on Iran

Israel used Azerbaijani territory to launch “drones and carry out attacks on targets inside Iran, as was also confirmed by eyewitnesses,” said Iranian expert Ehsan Movahedian—known for his anti-Azerbaijani and anti-Israeli views—in an interview with the Armenian state news agency Armenpress.

“Iran’s air defense systems in Bandar-e Anzali, on the Caspian Sea coast, detected several small drones a few days ago. Eyewitnesses in Parsabad and Moghan also reported that drones crossed the border from the Republic of Azerbaijan into Iran. The F-35 fighter jet that targeted Iranian state television also intended to cross the border from the direction of Julfa. Therefore, the airspace of either Turkey or Azerbaijan must have been used for that purpose,” he stated.

According to Movahedian, Israel is making use not only of Nakhchivan but also the rest of Azerbaijan’s territory.
