Armenian professor: Azerbaijan has become a strategic platform for Israel

Azerbaijan has effectively become a strategic platform for Israel, said Viktoria Arakelova, professor at the Russian-Armenian University.

Speaking at the event titled “Russia’s Approaches to the South Caucasus Amid Escalation in the Middle East,” Arakelova stated: “In our region, which is deeply interconnected with the Middle East, it is important to highlight the destabilizing role of Azerbaijan. Much has already been said about the fact that Azerbaijan has, in the literal sense, become a platform for Israel, especially following the war in Artsakh.”

“I myself have written about the so-called ‘smart villages’ established in recent years along the Azerbaijani-Iranian border... In other words, fully operational Western–Israeli intelligence bases are active in our region, and they have in many ways laid the groundwork for what we are witnessing today,” she added.
