Syrian expert: If Israel continues using Baku, Iran may open a new front against Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan plays a significant role by cooperating with Israel, but it is not at the center of the conflict, said Syrian international affairs expert Rami al-Khalifa Ali in an interview with the Syrian news agency Step News.

“The current situation points to close military and intelligence cooperation between Israel and Azerbaijan. Baku, however, seeks to conceal the details of this partnership to avoid a direct response from Iranian officials or internal unrest. Nevertheless, if Israel continues to actively use this corridor, it could prompt Tehran to respond by opening a new front in the north of the country—adding yet another regional dimension to the ongoing war, which may escalate beyond anyone’s expectations,” he added.
