IRGC special unit’s media outlet echoes Armenian claim of recon drone flight from Azerbaijan ahead of Israeli strike on Iran

The Iranian Telegram channel QODS_COM, affiliated with the Quds Force—a branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps—echoed a report from Armenian media, presenting it under the headline: “Evidence of a reconnaissance drone flying through Baku just hours before the Israeli strike on Iran.” According to the Armenian report, on June 12, a reconnaissance drone took off from an airbase in Azerbaijan’s Kurdamir District, flew to the Iranian border, and then returned.

On June 17, Israeli expert and former military intelligence officer Alexander Grinberg stated that Armenian media, “following Tehran’s instructions,” are accusing Azerbaijan of serving as a launchpad for Israeli aircraft and drones. Grinberg emphasized that “Armenia is fully subordinate to Tehran’s decision-making.”
