IRGC-affiliated news agency: Azerbaijani media’s silence on Israeli strikes against Iran signals tacit approval

Following Israel’s strike on Iran, Azerbaijani media outlets refrained from condemning the attack and instead began to normalize it, according to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The article asserts that Baku’s media landscape “follows a specific political agenda rather than pursuing objective reporting.”

“The silence of the Azerbaijani media... sends a signal to the aggressor (Israel) that its actions are acceptable and will not lead to negative consequences in its relations with Baku. In this sense, their silence constitutes a form of passive support, as well as political and moral approval of the Zionist regime’s actions — which may be even more telling and significant than an open declaration of support,” the agency emphasizes.
