Azerbaijan’s mediation between Israel and Turkey highlighted in U.S. Congress

"The United States can continue to stay engaged diplomatically and signal to Israel that a stable Syria — a stable, whole Syria that is not weak and divided — is also in Israel's interests," stated Anna Borshchevskaya, Senior Fellow at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy, a think tank affiliated with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). She made the remark during a June 5 hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa, titled "After Assad: The Future of Syria."

Borshchevskaya also emphasized the importance of “engagement with Azerbaijan, which has facilitated meetings between Israel and Turkey on the conflict between them.”
