In an interview with the Russian-Armenian news outlet RUSARM INFO, Artyom Chernamoryan, editor-in-chief of the "Armenians of Israel" newspaper (Israelahayer) and head of the “Nairi” Armenian Union in the city of Petah Tikva, expressed concern over the deepening relationship between Azerbaijan and Israel, while criticizing the Armenian government for its lack of strategic foresight.
“Azerbaijani-Israeli relations are growing closer and closer—unfortunately. Azerbaijan is also playing an increasingly significant role as a mediator between Turkey, Syria, and Israel—unfortunately. Meanwhile, our Armenian government is doing nothing. Before looking for others to blame, we should first look at ourselves. Doesn’t our government bear some responsibility for the current situation? Why did Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Kocharyan, and Sargsyan once reject the weapons that were offered and turn away Israel’s outstretched hand? Because when you say ‘Israel,’ you mean ‘America’—and when you say ‘America,’ you mean ‘Israel,’” said Chernamoryan.
