Media: Israel and Turkey reach agreement in principle on military activity in Syria after talks in Azerbaijan

"Israel and Turkey have reached an agreement in principle regarding the two countries' military activity in Syria. The agreement in principle was reached after weeks of negotiations in the capital of Azerbaijan, a common ally of Jerusalem and Ankara. Agreement was reached on a number of principles to prevent a military clash between IDF forces and Turkish military forces operating in northern Syria," according to the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom, which is owned by one of the largest donors to Donald Trump’s election campaign.

Meanwhile, the London-based Middle East Eye news outlet reports: "Turkey and Israel have established a hotline to prevent possible military flare-ups and misunderstandings in Syria, following talks held between the two countries in April... While further talks, a fifth round, are scheduled for later this month on a broader deconfliction deal, a 24/7 hotline was established in April to quickly resolve any accidental military tensions... Israeli government was largely comfortable with Turkey deploying land forces, including tanks and infantry, in Syria. However, the main question was where Ankara would place its air defence systems and radars, which could monitor Israeli air operations."
