Iranian-American Analyst: Israel Uses Azerbaijan for Covert Ops Against Iran

Despite the recent visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Baku and its positive influence on Tehran-Baku relations, Israel continues to play a destabilizing role in preventing the establishment of stable and constructive ties between Iran and Azerbaijan—particularly in the area of security. This was stated by Nader Entessar, an Iranian-American political analyst and professor at the University of South Alabama, in an interview with the Iranian economic news outlet Eghtesaad 24.

“Over the past several years, Israel has used its mostly covert presence in Azerbaijan to carry out a number of terrorist operations and explosions inside Iran. This remains the most probable route through which Israel may continue its efforts to undermine relations between Tehran and Baku,” the political scientist added.
