"Although Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu postponed his visit to Azerbaijan last week, where he was scheduled to stay through the weekend at the invitation of President Ilham Aliyev, relations between the countries remain warm," reports Ynet, Israel’s most visited news website.

"Azerbaijan is an ally of both Israel and Turkey, and is currently a central factor in mediating between Jerusalem and Ankara on the issue of Syria... The Azerbaijani president led the opening of the embassy in Tel Aviv in March 2023, and continued to support Israel even after the outbreak of the war... At the same time, the US administration is working to include Azerbaijan among the countries that signed the Abraham Accords, and President Donald Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff, visited Baku and met with President Aliyev," Ynet adds.
