Disinformation from prominent Iranian media: U.S. allegedly suspended sanctions against Azerbaijan

The Iranian news agency Tasnim, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), claims that a U.S. State Department spokesperson allegedly stated that the implementation of Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act, which restricts direct U.S. aid to Azerbaijan, has once again been "temporarily suspended" as of April 26. The agency further asserts that “Azerbaijan will make concessions to the United States and the Zionist regime in exchange for additional privileges.”

In 2023, the U.S. Senate adopted a resolution prohibiting the American president from suspending the implementation of Section 907 in 2024 and 2025.
