Israel Sends Threatening Message to Syria Through Azerbaijan, Kurdish Media Reports

On May 4, an Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov delivered a message from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, according to a post by Rojava Network, a Kurdish-affiliated X account run by independent journalists.

The message states, "Based on previous experiences with the Assad regime, you have seen with your own eyes what full reliance on Iran led to it cost the Assad regime its life... Now, you're repeating the same mistake following behind Turkey, which, like Iran, is exploiting Syria’s weakness for its own regional agenda. Don’t trust Turkish support. It’s a trap. Turkey doesn’t want to stabilize Syria... If you continue on this path, your fate will be worse than Assad’s and quicker."

"We warn you, clearly and explicitly. If Syria does not immediately comply with international orders - not requests, but orders - especially with regard to stopping support for terrorist militias and drying up their sources of funding and armament, then your fate will be no different from that of Hassan Nasrallah and his group," the message adds.
