Iranian media affiliated with Khamenei: Azerbaijan turns to Tehran, reducing dependence on Turkey and Israel

“We are witnessing a shift in Baku’s regional policy, including the establishment of contacts and meetings with Iranian officials, as well as a certain decline in relations with Tel Aviv and Ankara,” writes the Iranian news agency Mehr, which is affiliated with Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

“After evaluating the high potential of the Islamic Republic of Iran both in confronting its enemies and supporting its allies, Baku has concluded that cooperation with the region’s leading power could bring greater benefits. Baku has realistically assessed the unstable position of the occupying regime (Israel) and understands that betting on a losing side is a strategic mistake,” the news agency adds.
