"The claims that overflight permission was granted to the Israeli Prime Minister's plane are absolutely untrue. No such request has been conveyed to us either," said Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oncu Keceli, as cited by the state news agency Anadolu. "Keceli made a statement regarding the allegations that overflight permission was given to Netanyahu's aircraft," the news agency added.
Meanwhile, Turkey’s Directorate of Communications Center for Countering Disinformation reported: "There is absolutely no situation involving the opening of Turkish airspace for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Azerbaijan on May 7. Turkey has closed its airspace to Israeli aircrafts as a result of Israel’s genocidal policies against Gaza."
Turkish journalist Ragıp Soylu claimed that reports about Turkey granting Netanyahu’s plane permission to use its airspace for the Azerbaijan trip were “something pushed by pro-Iran networks.”
