Expert on Turkey: Netanyahu’s visit to Baku is Israel's plan for military-intelligence rapprochement with Azerbaijan

According to Turkish affairs expert Hosni Mahali, Israel’s growing interest in the Turkic-speaking Islamic republics of Central Asia and the Caucasus “aligns with an agenda backed by Washington, which aims to integrate these countries—endowed with significant reserves of gas, oil, and rare earth elements—into its regional and global alliances countering Russia and China.”

“The anticipated visit of Netanyahu to Baku in the coming days fits not only within this strategic framework but also into a broader context: it reflects Tel Aviv’s efforts to strengthen military and intelligence cooperation with Azerbaijan, Iran’s southern neighbor,” Mahali wrote on the Arabic news site La Media.
